Sponsorship Proposal for the SAQA 30-Year Celebration Conference
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is set to host two prestigious international events in October 2025 and 2026, bringing together global thought leaders, policymakers, and experts in education, qualifications recognition, and lifelong learning. These events will serve as critical platforms for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration, reinforcing SAQA’s role in advancing international cooperation in education and skills development. The two conferences are:
- SAQA’s 30-year Celebration Conference which will be held from 7 – 9 October 2025 in Gauteng.
- The Groningen Declaration Network which will be held from 20 – 22 October 2026 in Cape Town.
Since its establishment in 1995, SAQA has been mandated to develop, implement, and oversight of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in South Africa. Over the past three decades, SAQA has played a critical role in promoting quality education, skills mobility, and the international recognition of qualifications. The 30-Year Celebration Conference will serve as a platform to discuss key achievements, challenges, and opportunities in the education sector, with a focus on global best practices and future-oriented strategies.
The Groningen Declaration Network (GDN) is an international network dedicated to improving the mobility of learners and workers across borders by promoting the digital portability of qualifications and credentials. It serves as a platform for signatories, governments, institutions, and service providers to collaborate on secure, learner-centric data exchange. SAQA was a proud host of the GDN Annual Meeting in Cape Town in 2016 and has remained an active participant as a founding member since 2012. Hosting the GDN again in 2026, in iconic Cape Town, reflects SAQA’s commitment to advancing international dialogue on digital credentialing and the recognition of qualifications across borders.
By sponsoring either one of both of these events, your organization will have the unique opportunity to:
- Gain visibility among high-level policymakers, education leaders, and international organizations.
- Position itself as a leader in supporting education, skills development, and lifelong learning initiatives.
- Network with key stakeholders and decision-makers from South Africa and beyond.
- Showcase its commitment to social responsibility and sustainable education development.
